The Transpartisan Imperative in American Life

[amazon-product align=”right”]0615215262[/amazon-product] Our current political system dominated by two parties is broken, according to the nearly 130 million eligible American voters who are either registered independent or not registered to vote at all.  In this podcast, Michael Ostrolenk speaks with Jim Turner about a new transpartisan approach to solving today’s challenges.  People who are told they are on opposite sides of the political spectrum may, in reality,  agree on many similar goals and outcomes, says Mr. Turner, one of the original “Nader’s Raiders.”  Solutions will be found in focusing on these areas of agreement, rather than continuing unnecessarily bitter and divisive debate stuck in the flawed left/right paradigm.   Learn more about transpartisan ideas: read, Voice of the People: The Transpartisan Imperative in American Life co-authored by Mr. Turner.

What is Voice for HOPE?

Integrative and complementary medical treatments are widespread and vital to the health of Americans.  Yet they are ignored, or even worse, erroneously marginalized by our politicians and and others involved in the current health care reform debate.  Healers of Planet Earth (HOPE) are now banding together to make sure their voices and the voices of their patients are heard and that our policy and decision makers realize not only the effectiveness of alternative treatments but the economic efficiency of them as well.  Voice for HOPE Vice President for Development Jim Turner introduces the mission of this project to Michael Ostrolenk in this podcast and also discusses recent and upcoming events on Capitol Hill.

Jim Turner says “no expanded powers to FTC” to regulate dietary supplements.
